First and foremost, hello! It’s been an awfully long time, I’ve missed writing up blog posts but as some of you may know, my life has changed a little bit since my last update.
If you follow me on Instagram (where I am still very active!) you’ll see that my feed has been taken over by a tiny little critter called Anushka… My husband and I have had a baby! She’s now 7 months old and I still can’t believe she’s ours. When I found out I was pregnant towards the end of 2016, I wanted to tell the whole world and thought I would be writing weekly/monthly posts on here updating you all on how things were going. As it turns out, I didn’t tell the whole world and I wrote exactly ZERO blog posts about my pregnancy.
I can summarise my pregnancy for you:
My first trimester was spent feeling extremely anxious, tired, nauseous and vomiting (weeks 9-11 were particularly bad, I had to go on mute on a conference call at home so I could vomit. Professional, I think you’ll agree).

The second trimester was pretty nice overall! The first few weeks of it I still had morning (all day) sickness. My bump was growing nicely, I no longer fit into my lovely clothes I’d bought after losing weight. We found out we were having a girl at our 20 week scan and were over the moon. We told our families and close friends before Christmas but then decided not to make an announcement on FB.

A little way into the third trimester things got a bit tougher. My blood pressure started creeping up around week 28 and I had regular check ups at the RVI to monitor it. Week 35 was my lovely baby shower organised by my sisters at the gorgeous Blagdon Parlour. By week 38 I was slowing down considerably and after a check up at the hospital they decided to induce me. The induction failed and I had an emergency c section. Our beautiful girl arrived safely at 6:38am on the 12th June, 10 days earlier than her due date!

So, that was seven months ago! I’ve had a lovely maternity leave getting to know my little lady, hanging out as a family of three, not washing my hair as often as I’d like, attending baby classes and spending time with the amazing ladies (and babies!) I met at NCT classes (I’m certain I will mention NCT in more detail in a future post). I’m back to work very very soon and Anushka has started nursery. As cliché as it sounds, time really does fly. I won’t bore you with any more details today but I’ll be back soon with more baby talk!

Thanks for reading. It feels nice to be back 🙂

Thank you so much Sam! I’ve really missed it, I’ve also got no idea how parents have time to do anything other than survive! X
